3.) A book with a Key on it…well, apparently I own no books with keys on them 😦

4.) Something on your bookshelf that’s not a book: I keep family pictures on the top of my bookshelves. I’ve been thinking of buying some funko pops stranger things though…

5.) Find the oldest book on your bookshelf: The Wicked Pigeon Ladies. It was actually renamed and the version we have is no longer in print.

6.) Find a book with a girl on the cover: Well this one is too easy! So, of course, I’m going with my own!

7.) A book with a boy on the cover: Well if you say so…;)

11.) A book with illustrations in it: The edition I got of Carmilla came with a lot of illustrations in it.

13.) Find a diary…my daughter keeps lots of diaries.

14.) Find a book with an author with a common name: Sarah Stein

15.) A book with a close up of something on it: Double Identity. It has a double helix.

16.) Book on my shelf that takes time in the earliest time period: Lysistrata, can’t get any older than ancient Greece right? This play is hilarious, I highly recommend it!

I Messed Up Book Tag

The “I Messed Up Book Tag” was originally created by IsthatChami on Youtube. I saw it over at Perfectly Tolerable

A character appearance you imagined differently?

I read a book over on wattpad and for some reason I imagined one of the guys as a tall fat guy and then later on in the story it said he was thin and I was like whaaa? And the author was like yeah dude he’s skinny. I continued to imagine him as I had the whole time. Anyway, her book won a Wattpad award and she is publishing it! I can wait until it comes out. Kerios Time Machine, or something…lol it was a great time travel matchmaking book.

A name you pronounced wrong?

I always feel like I’m saying Hideo from Warcorss wrong. They finally put it in the book phonetically and I guess I was saying it correctly, but if just wrong for some reason lol.

Overused trope that’s a guilty pleasure?

I don’t know if cliffhangers can count in the category, but I love cliffhangers because it means there is a whole nother book to come!

A cliched character you like better on screen than in a book?

Some sci-fi I prefer on screen than in books, but I don’t know about a character type, I like paranormal in books and most other characters.

A word of phrase you learned because of a book?

I read Alonica Arises and it was the first time I read the word behemoth.  I was like a what? Had to ask the hubs if he knew the word (he reads a lot of fantasy) it means a large monster. Now I use it in my writing sometimes 😉

Have you ever not read or completed required school reading?

Oh my….lol yes! It started in college when I was assigned Heart of Darkness. I hated that book and still do. Thank God for Cliffnotes!!!

Have you ever skipped a POV chapter?

Yes! Gorge RR Martin just put entirely too many POV in Dances with Dragons. He just kept adding more and more and to be honest it was getting a bit ridiculous.

Cancelled social plans to read?

LOL I actually have not done this

Book Cake Tag

giphy-downsized (10)

I found this tag at Early Bookish Birds   who found it @ Marianna’s Corner

1.Chocolate Cake (A Dark Book You Absolutely Love)

This is actually hard for me because it depends on what the interpretation of dark is. I’ll go with a horror book here The Dark Truth, it is my favorite of all of Sarah Stine’s works and it is in an Anthology currently.

2.Vanilla Cake (A Light Read)

Throne of Grace was a sweet light read for me. I realize I don’t read many light reads lol with dystopian and paranormal as my favorites my reads are pretty heavy.

3.Red Velvet (A Book That Gave You Mixed Emotions)

An Ember in the Ashes. I really wanted to love that book and some parts I really did, but others I really did not.

4.Cheesecake (A Book You Would Recommend to Anyone)

The Giver is always the book I recommend to everyone. It is my favorite book. I think because it was the first book I ever read that had some real substance it has a deeper meaning I hope will captivate others as well.

5.Coffee Cake (A Book You Started But Never Finished)

There is more than one, but Choke would be my least favorite.

6.Carrot Cake (A Book With Great Writing)

I love the way George RR Martin writes. I had Dances with Dragons on my kindle and accidentally thought it was another book and was so impressed by this new author until I realized I accidentally opened up Martin’s book and was like ooooh!

7.Tiramisu (A Book That Left You Wanting More)

I guess most series are like that for me. I am still currently impatiently waiting on the next Ice and Fire series by Martin….Come on Martin I’m waiting!
